Utili Tile Hallway, Thout Design, 16 X 16 walnut panels

Canadian House and Home, directions to build this unit available on their websiteSt. Louis Magazine At Home, photographer Susan Jackson. Wow, to be organized and color coordinated!

Kohler Oceanview Floor Sink - this makes alot of sense. Think dog, muddy boots and for that matter, muddy kids.

A garden-focused mudroom.

Oh, to have a true bonafide mudroom. I rank it up there with a laundry chute and back stairs coming and going to the kitchen. If you don't have the space for a mudroom there is hope though. Check out Thout Design's Utili Tile Hallway Organization system. They're beautiful walnut 16 X 16 panels and when the hooks and shelves are not being used they can be closed. It automatically made me think that for parties and entertaining you could clear out your own stuff temporarily to return the wall to a sleek, open look. I've drawn up plans for a mudroom wall that will be just off our back walkout basement door. Now I just have to convince my husband that building it is as important as resting and taking it easy on the weekends. Mmm...I think I need to draw up plans for that.

vThat Oceanview floor sink, and the subway tiled shower for the dog are very great designs with a practical purpose. As someone with a new puppy, it's something to think about.
